The main muscle groups in the groin and thigh are the hamstrings (back of the thigh), the gluteal muscles (in the buttock), the quadriceps (front of the thigh) and the adductors (inner thigh). Injuries to these muscles are fairly common in sport as they provide a lot of power/force during movement.
